Wood Sideboards
Wooden sideboards can be easily traced in dining area of all kinds of décors. Sideboards are exclusively used for storage and display of things used in dining rooms. Wooden sideboards are generally used for storage of crockery, table ware, plates etc. Wooden sideboards are used to keep all kinds of precious tableware.
Initially the trend of sideboards was started in prior and during the middle age, while people were used to keep a flat board near dining table. This board was used to carry tableware or crockery etc. Later cupboards were also used to keep these things in dining rooms. With passing phase of times this get diverse modifications. By the emergence of 17th centaury, craftsmen have started the designing of sideboards with cupboards. These sideboards were designed with shelves and drawers. At the top these sideboards were provided with a flat surface. The articles displayed on top were easily observable and accessible as height of this surface was kept little higher then a normal table. In fact this has provided the basic structure of sideboards which is used in recent times as well.
This basic structure of sideboards is not changed yet its styles and designing has been changed a lot. Nowadays wooden sideboards are accessible in plenteous designs and styles. The shelves and drawers of wooden sideboards are adorned with latticework and carvings etc. Styles and number of drawers depend on the requirement of users. Size of sideboards is selected in accordance to size of dining area. Few sideboards are provided with glass doors which gives an elegant look to décor.
The proper care and maintenance of wooden sideboards is very important as it enhances its life. Wooden sideboards should be cleaned regularly. The inner sides of shelves and drawers of wooden sideboards should be cleaned with dry cloth. Time-to-time polishing of wooden sideboards increases its durability. |
